Warm Wishes Poinsettia Decor – featuring the i-crafter Rocker Card Base dies

Hello my crafty friends!  I am so glad you stopped by today’s i-crafter blog.  I love creating unexpected papercrafts and today is project can be used as home decor, an ornament, a gift tag, or even a wine bottle tag.  You need a mini chalkboard to use as the base for this project. The rest is created with paper, using a few dies from the Rocker Step Card Base die set.  This is such a fun and super easy project to make.

Here is the step tutorial for you to follow along:
A – I started with 110 lb watercolor printed cardstock in red, yellow, and green. Iselected the poinsettia dies from the Rocker Step Card Base and die cut three large and six small poinsettia petals clusters from the red watercolor cardstock.  I cut two large and two small poinsettia petal clusters from the green watercolor cardstock.  I die cut two of the flower middles from the yellow watercolor cardstock (4 in total)
B, C, anmd D – I used a large ball stylus and thick foam molding mat to shape the petal clusters as shown. (B) Middle of petals facing up in a circilar motion. (C & D) flip over to back die and curl tips and push in the middle cross section to create the shape.  Repeat steps B-D with all petal pieces large and small
E, F, & G – I brushed three coats of Galaxy Gloss on the red and green petals (both front and back  drying each layer for about 10 minutes in between coat layers
H – Cut one of the large green leaf cluster into three separate leaves. Take the second large green leaf cluster and use it as the bottom layer for the large poinsettia flower
I – Add a dot of glue in the middle of the second large green leaf cluster
J, K, and L – Add one of the large red leaf cluster staggering it as shown. Do the same with the next two layers, glueing them into place over the last layer. Glue two of the yellow flower middles in the middle of the large poinsettia and take one of the extra large green leaves and glue it to the back of the poinsetta.  Repeat thes steps to creat two small pionsettias for three total flowers, but only use one yellow flower middle in each bloom
M, N, O And P – Peel back a portion of one i-crafter’s Permanet i-Stik Adhesive Sheet and stick a 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of frosted white vellum to it.  Cut away the rest of the i-Stik Adhesive and you are left with a sticker of vellum ready to die cut
Q – Place the vellum sticker sheet onto the i-Mend Self-Mending Cutting Deck and add the word dies “Warm Wishes”.  Run the dies through your cutting machine
R  – Using a pick, gently push the die cut vellum words to release them from the dies if needed
S and T – Set out the mini 3 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ chalkboard.  Gently peel back the release paper from the back of the vellum die cut words and carefully place the sentiment onto the chalkboard tag as shown.  I used a rubber brayer to make sure the words are securely and evenly attached to the mini chalkboard
U – I added an adhesive foal squares to the back of each poinsetia and attached it to the mini chalkboard completing the project
