Puppy Love Pop Art Card

Hi again friends, it’s Rachel showing off two fun cards using the Puppy Love and Slimline Windows die sets!

My first card is fairly simple, I started with a bright yellow slimline card base and added the large Slimline Windows die to it. I selected the hound or beagle style dog from Puppy Love to use first. To make building the pup a little easier, I used i-Stik adhesive sheets on scraps of while, kraft, and dark brown cardstock. I placed my pup in the center of the card.

Next, I used the heart dies from both sets and cut them out a few times from hot pink, dark gray, and a gray woodgrain papers. I popped a few of the hearts up using foam adhesive to create dimension. For the sentiment, I used the “I’m lost without you” stamp from the Amaze Me stamp set, this was stamped using white ink onto the same dark gray paper as the hearts then cut down to size and popped up on foam adhesive to finish the card..

My next card was inspired by the art of Andy Warhol. I decided to use the Corgi style pup from Puppy Love in non-traditional colors, I picked out a few different colors from my scraps pile and narrowed it down to these because they looked good together! Again, to make building the pups easier, I used i-Stik adhesive sheets on the backs of the cardstocks before I die cut them.

Using one of Andy Warhol’s pieces for reference, I balanced the colors against one another and built one dog at a time on a colorful square of its own. I used tweezers and a pick to place the pieces carefully within the outlines. Once the small squares with pups were built, I layered them onto a larger black square, then finally onto a kraft card base.

I wanted to add a sentiment so I used the “Hello” die from the Slimline Windows set, on black cardstock backed in i-Stik and placed it the center of the card.
