You Grow Girl!

Matchbox Stories

Hi crafty friend! It’s Amanda from Pear Blossom Press and today, I’m back with a fun little Matchbox Stories project to share. This isn’t a card, and unlike most of the projects I make, I’m not giving this away. This is a little gift to myself. Over the past year, my business has really started to take off, and I know it’s silly, but I feel like I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop. This is a token to remind me that my hard work and determination is behind my success. And even though life is always a work in progress, I’m growing as a person.

If you haven’t seen it yet, the Matchbox Stories die set has everything you need to create your own matchboxes. The idea is to tell part of a story on the front of the box, then open it to reveal the rest. For me, I chose to put the word FOCUS on the front to represent my hard work and drive. (The die set comes with a bunch of words. This one spoke to me.) I didn’t want to permanently cover up the potted plant on the front, so I die cut FOCUS on a belly band.

Inside the box, I stamped the sentiment YOU GROW GIRL! from the Positively Plants stamp set (same set the potted plant on the front of the box is from). I also added some 3D die cut succulents from the Mini Succulent Terrarium die set. When I open the box, it will remind me to keep going and keep growing.

What do you think? I love it! And now I want to make a whole bunch more. I also have more ideas for these cute little boxes; they’re going to be great stocking stuffers. I want to make gift boxes for handmade jewelry (I like to make beaded bracelets and earrings). I want to make another box for my husband and fill it with little love notes and photos.

If you are wondering how hard assembly is, don’t worry, they are super simple to put together. My friend Lynnea has a great video showing how fast they come together; you can see it here

What will you put in your Matchbox Stories box? I can’t wait to see! Tag me on Instagram, or show us in the i-crafter fan club on Facebook! You can find the sister article to this post on my blog.

Thanks for stopping by today. I’ll be back soon with more fun cards to share.
