Water Lilies and Butterflies Gift Card Holder

Water Lily embossing folder

Hi everyone! It’s me, Tonya and I am here today to share my project using the Water Lily 3D Embossing Folder. I also used the Alphabet Carly Die Set,  the card base from the Tunnel Card Base Swan Die Set and the pocket from the Explosion Shaker Box Die Set to create this gift card holder.

I embossed a piece of cardstock with the Water Lily Embossing Folder and cut all of the individual pieces for my gift card holder before heading out to Nashville (side note…this was a month ago at the beginning of the pandemic and I wasn’t sure if I would be able to make it back home or not) to watch my grandson while my son and daughter in law worked from home. I grabbed inks and various embellishments and hoped for the best since I couldn’t pack my whole craft room and take with me.

The embossed water lily image I adhered to a #12 tag and cut the excess off. I used a blue and green chalk inks to lightly ink over the edges and embossed areas of the water lily.  I inked a glass tray with blue and green inks and added water to each color, loaded a paint brush and splattered the image and let dry. I added glossy dots to the center of each lily and randomly adhered three sequins. I  applied a piece of  i-stik Permanent Adhesive Sheet to the back of a piece of patterned cardstock, cut the word “bloom” from the Carly Alphabets Die Set, placed on a tag from my stash and adhered to the holder along with a butterfly.

The other side of the holder I adhered  patterned cardstock to the back. The card base diecut I folded both flaps and adhered the bottom flap first to create the stand and then the top flap.

The pocket diecut I adhered to the back side of the stand, glued another butterfly from my stash to the pocket and completed the holder by adding trims to the side and punching a hole in the top and adding a bow.
