This is My Story Exploding Shaker Box

Exploding Shaker Box

Hi everyone! It’s me, Tonya and I’m back today with this fun little project I created using the Exploding Shaker Box and the Floral Garden Diecuts. There are written directions with photos and a video on how to create this Exploding Shaker Box that you can find HERE. I used an assortment of patterned cardstocks, stickers and embellishments to decorate my box.

After I cut out all the pieces to create this box I put them together according to the directions. I cut out several flowers and leaves from the Floral Garden Diecuts to decorate the outside and inside lid of the box.  I shaped the flowers, foliage and leaves with the i-Press Burnisher and Pad and adhered all together. I added a tiny flower with leaves to each side of the lid. On the top of the lid I placed floral chipboard pieces and a bow made out of thread along with one of the shaped flowers, foliage and leaves.

On the outside of the box I decorated two of the panels. I cut two of the scalloped circles from the Exploding Shaker Box Diecuts, added those along with stickers, sentiments and fussy cut butterflies.

The inside of the box I cut out two pockets and two of the flaps for the pockets but inside of using the flaps as closures for the pockets I used them as mini pockets.

I used an assortment of cut a parts, chipboard embellishments, buttons, gems, sequins and stickers to decorate the pockets. I also cut a small section of leaf sprigs from the Tunnel Card Base, Swan Diecuts and added to two of the pockets.

The negative space from the scallop diecut I cut a piece of acetate to fit and adhered to the piece of cardstock. I cut strips of Foam Adhesive and covered all the way around the square and around the edge of the scalloped opening and added a mix of sequins and seed bead.  I lined up a square diecut and placed on top of the foam adhesive. I adhered the shaker in the center of the box and added the “This is my story” sentiment to the shaker.

I cut a square and the leftover scalloped circle diecuts and adhered to the inside lid. I also added a thread bow and a flower and leaves to complete this project.

If you need more inspiration you can find more projects from the team HERE. If you would like to purchase these diecuts along with others you can find the site HERE.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Tuesday is wonderful and enjoy creating!
