Shine some light on those dark, winter nights with box lights made out of vellum.
Start by gathering your supplies. You will need:
TOOLS:
Geometric Favor Box dies
i-Motion Die Cutting and Embossing Machine
i-Press Burnisher and Pad
1/4 inch hole punch
MATERIALS:
Vellum, medium weight
Low-heat string of lights
Adhesives: liquid or dry
Optional: seed beads
For each light you will need to die cut one each of the two largest shapes from the Geometric Favor Box die set. Die cut from medium weight vellum for best results.
The die cut shapes will have a small, indented dot in the corner. Align these dots as shown above.
Apply adhesive along the vertical glue tab and attach the two shapes with the indented dots aligned.
Fold all crease lines. Use the flat end of the i-Press Burnisher to create crisp folds.
Punch a 1/4″ hole in the center of the small triangle shape.
Continue applying adhesive to all of the narrow glue tabs. Flip over the shape and begin by adhering the short glue tab to the opposite side above the small triangle shape.
Carefully work your way around the box shape as you adhere the glue tabs.
Use the flat end of the i-Press Burnisher to press the glue tabs inside the box.
Add seed beads or other light embellishments into the completed boxes and seal the box closed.
Push the light bulb through the small, punched hole. You may need to enlarge the hole slightly.
We used a short, battery operated, low-heat string of lights. Do not leave unattended.
