Let’s Make This

Create this trifold card with a shaker card behind decorative layers

1. Begin by gathering your supplies. You will need:

Cut a piece of cardstock to 11 13/16″ wide by 5 1/2″ high. From the left, score at 4″ and 8″. You will have two panels that are 4″ wide and the panel on the right will be 3 13/16″.

Using the flat end of the i-Press Burnishing tool, create sharp creases.

With the left panel folded on top, place the cattail die centered as shown. Hold in place with low-tack tape.

Unfold the card and run this through your die cutting machine to create the first window.

Fold the card again with the right panel behind the front left panel. Align the swan die behind the cattail window and hold in place with low-tack tape.

Unfold the left panel and add more tape if necessary.

Unfold the card and run it through your die cutting machine.

Cut a piece of cardstock 3 11/16″ wide by 5 3/8″ high. This will be slightly smaller than the center panel.

Place the leaf die onto the smaller center panel and fold the swan panel closed. Align the leaf die with the swan die opening and secure with low-tack tape. Remove the smaller center panel and run this through your die cutting machine.

Adhere a piece of clear acetate on the back side of the leaf opening.

Add pieces of double-stick foam tape around the window opening and on the edges of the panel. Lightly dust the edges of the foam tape around the window with anti-static dusting powder.

Turn the card facing away from you. Place the leaf panel face down on top of the swan panel. Align the window openings. Add sequins. Secure the card to the work surface with low-tack tape.

Carefully fold the card from the left to the right so that the center, back panel of the card lays on top of the leaf panel. Gently press to adhere the foam tape. Remove the low-tack tape and lift the card.

To create the band, cut a piece of cardstock 1″ x 8 1/2″. Measure and crease at 2 1/4″ from the left. Wrap the band around the front of the card and crease again to close the band. Remove the band and lightly mark the center. Place the word die “Thanks” from the Zip Gift Tag die set and run this through your die cutting machine. Wrap the band around the card and adhere the ends in back.

The dies from the Tunnel Card Base can be used even without creating a tunnel.
