Succulent Birthday Card – i- crafter May Release

Cosmic Flare Stencil

Hello crafty friends!  Welcome to my blog featuring i-crafter new May dies!  I am so glad you stopped by today.  I have created a Succulent Birthday Card to share with you today.  It features the new Mini Succulents Terrarium die set, the Happy Birthday Wiper Insert die set, and the tiny cactus flowers are made using the itty bitty flower insert plate from the Floral Garden die set.  The fun background is created using the Cosmic Flare stencil.

This is a bright and sunny birthday card.  I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Happy Birthday Wiper Insert die.  The Mini Succulent Terrarium die Cacti are adorable and created in 3 dimensional layers

A, C –   I used a piece of green cardstock to die cut each cactus die twice

B –  On a piece of peach cardstock I daubed Festive Berries and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide inks to create a pattern on the paper.  I use the small flower die plate from the Flower Garden die set to cut the dies twice

D – I used the green i-brush ink blender to add Evergreen Bough Distressed Oxide ink around the edges of each cactus piece.

E – I folded each of the round cactus pieces in half and the tall ones in half.  This will give the cactus dimension

F – I used the i-Press Burnishing Tool on the pink mini flower blooms to create 5 dimensional flowers.  I glued them together in sets of 2-3 blooms using the small, medium, and large to create the cactus flower.

G – I created two of the round cacti  and one of each of the other types (shown above) for a total of 5 cacti for the card.  I glued the pink blooms in place on each cactus

.

The background for this card is created on a piece of 3 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ pale yellow cardstock using Dried Marigold and Wild Honey Distressed Oxide Inks and the Cosmic Flare stencil. (Note: the 3 3/4″ side will be the bottom of the card) I cut the top of the stenciled piece off at 1 1/8″ and mounted it to the top of a 5″ x 3 3/4″ piece of yellow cardstock. I left a gap and mounted the bottom 2 3/8″ stenciled piece to the bottom of the yellow card front. The gap area between the stenciled pieces is the perfect opening to attach  the Happy Birthday die cut with double side foam squares.

The A2 card base is  layered.  Pink card stock the 1st layer and measures 4″ x 5 1/4″. The sage green cardstock is the second layer and third and top layer of the card front is the cosmic flair piece I created.  I added the cacti to the bottom of the card completing the look.
