Copic Colored Spring Flowers Slimline Windows

Spring is in the air, and in the windows! Hey crafty friend, it’s Amanda from Pear Blossom Press again. Today, I’m sharing a lovely spring themed slimline card, featuring the new Slimline Windows die. Isn’t it fun?

One of my favorite things to do is to color die cuts, rather than cut them from colored cardstock. That way, I can add lots of shading and texture. For this card, I die cut florals and bugs from the Floral Garden and Love Bugs sets. The sentiment is from the Easter Treat Lantern Add-on set. After Copic coloring the pieces, I gently curled them with a stylus on a foam pad, and glued the layers together. Notice the bee’s wings? They are cut from vellum.

To assemble the card, I stacked four kraft layers of the Slimline Windows die, over an ink blended panel. The panel was glued to a kraft card base. After that, I just tucked the florals, bugs, and sentiment into the windows, using a combination of glue and foam tape. A few scattered gems add sparkle.

Let’s take a closer look…

I love the way this card turned out! The windows make it so easy to create the layout, and you don’t have to try to create a large scene. Wouldn’t it be cute to swap the floral dies for Making Faces or the champagne and flutes from the Celebration Wiper set? Holiday cards would be awesome too. The Slimline Windows die is such a versatile piece; I’m so glad it’s in my stash now!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I’ll be back soon with another fun card to share. If you’d like to see step-by-step photos of how I colored and layered the florals and bugs for this card, head on over to my blog… pearblossompress.com. See you soon!
