Rainbow Wisteria Vines

Wisteria Vines

Hello my fellow i-Crafters! Justin here, and today I am sharing a super fun take on how to use the new Wisteria Vines Die Set! Slimline cards are so popular in the crafting world right now, and what’s really great about the Wisteria Vines Die Set is that it will very comfortably fit on a standard 3.5″ x 8.5″ slimline card base!

For my project, I was inspired to use a rainbow palette to really bring this die to life. Instead of ink blending, I took out 8 alcohol ink and a piece of plastic paper, cut down to 3.375″ x 8.375″. After using an alcohol blending solution to really move the inks around, I let the panel dry completely before using it.

Next, using black cardstock, I die cut the Wisteria Vines piece from it, because I knew that the black would stand out REALLY well against the rainbow colors.

Tip: This is absolutely one of those die sets where your life is going to be so much easier if you have some form of a paper piercer! There are so many pieces that will require just that little nudge to push out of the paper. i-Crafter has a great paper piercing tool, the i-Clik Pick, available that would definitely help with this.

Once all the paper was pierced out of my Wisteria Vines die cut, I matted it with vellum, as this would give a nice extra layer of varied material to the project.

Next, I adhered my dried alcohol ink panel to a 3.5″ x 8.5″ slimline card panel of black cardstock to give it a nice from. I then adhered my Wisteria Vines piece to the card. For my sentiment, I used the “You are bloomin’ beautiful” sentiment from the Bloomin’ Sunshine stamp set, heat embossed in white powder on black cardstock, trimmed into a strip and framed with vellum. I adhered my sentiment with foam tape to my panel.

To finish this card off, I adhered some dew drops onto my card and adhered the whole unit to a slimline card base, and my card was complete!

Thank you so much for stopping by the i-Crafter blog today and checking out my project! I hope it inspires you to break out those alcohol inks, or try them for the very first time!
