Monster House Interactive Card

Hello everyone. Lauren here today with this terrifying tower full of monsters. Lift the flaps on this slimline card to reveal the three scary monsters.

Halloween cards are some of my very favorite kind of cards to make and I had so much fun creating this one! I used the faces from the Impossible box monster set and elements from other i-crafter Halloween sets to add onto the house.

I started with a white cardstock slimline panel measuring 3.5 x 8.5. I then partial die cut 3 (1.5 x 1.5″) squares down the center to be my flaps. I scored the top (uncut) portion of the square to allow the flap to lift. I also used a hole punch on the bottom of each flap to make the area to lift from.

Then I used a square die from my stash to create the roof for my house from black cardstock.

I die cut 3 more roof triangles the same size and adhered them stacked on top of each other.

Next, I ink blended a spooky sky at the top of the panel starting just above the top flap. I used Distress Oxides in Seedless Preserves, Wilted Violet and Black Soot.

Once I had my sky inked, I added the roof above the top flap. Before adhering on the roof, I trimmed the tip off to flatten it and added a die cut decorative fence.

worked on creating the wood siding. I used a woodgrain frame die from my stash to die cut a few frames that I then cut to create the siding. I blended a bit of Black Soot ink on them to make them look distressed. Then adhered them on my panel leaving the flaps uncovered.

When I had finished adhering all the wood siding, I trimmed off the overhanging bits.

I then die cut a bunch of spooky elements from other i-crafter Halloween sets and adhered them onto the panel to complete the look.

I used the Impossible Box, Monsters set to create my monsters to go behind the flaps.
I die cut the faces for each monster and adhered them onto  2 x2″ squares. Then I adhered them to a white slimline card base, lined up so that they would show through the flaps just right once the front panel was adhered on.

I hope this card gives some spooky  inspiration to use your die sets in unique ways.
