Hello my crafty friends! Thank you for taking time to stop by today’s blog for i-crafter. These two love birds are so sweet, and they are nestled in this lovely teapot tunnel. I created this design to fold flat to fit in an A2 envelope for mailing in the post.
Let me share the tutorial to create this card using the Mom Teapot die (by Lori Whitlock) along with the Tunnel Card Love Birds dies (by Lynda Kansae).
Using four various colors of green cardstocks, I die cut the teapot from each. I set aside the darkest green teapot. I positioned each of the Tunnel Card Love Birds dies in the middle of the other three teapot shapes and die cut them using the i-Mend Magnetic ProCutting Deck and Platinum die cutting machine.
A, B and C – I die cut each of the love bird pieces from colored cardstock to create both a green and blue love bird. I ink blended the love bird bodies and glued on the crests, beaks and wings. I die cut a second branch from the Lovebird tunnel die.
D, E and F – I glued the left love bird to the it’s silhouette on the teapot. I glued the blue bird on the right side of the teapot over it’s silhouette. I glued the extra branch to the tunnel card over the body of the love birds. I glued additional feet over the branch to complete this part of the teapot tunnel.
G – I cut a 2″ x 6″ strip from the light green cardstock. Using a scoreboard, scored the 2″ strip every 1/4″ ending at 4 1/2″, then score at 5 1/4″. Cut the strip at 3/4″, 1 1/2″, 2 1/4″, 3″, 3 1/4″ 4 1/2″ and 5 1/4″. Fold the six 3/4″ x 2″ scores piece on their score lines creating a “U” shaped bar hinge. Put the two unscored pieces aside for later
H, I and J – Attach one bar hinge to the inside lower base of the front tunnel teapot and do the same with two other teapot tunnel dies cuts. Attach the front open-heart die cut teapot with the bar hinge to the second bird die teapot. Attach the second bar hinge (behind the birds) to the third die cut teapot. Attach the final solid teapot to the final bar hinge. This creates a cascade of the four teapots. Repeat the process by using the remaining three bar hinges to attach the top of the die cut teapots connecting them to create a tunnel card.
K – Glue one of the non-scored 2″ x 3/4″ pieces to the top of the teapot hinges and the second one to the bottom of the teapot hinges for stability.
The last item to attach is the teapot lid to complete the tunnel card.
Thank you so much for stopping by to see today’s LOVEly little teapot tunnel card. I hope you enjoyed today’s tutorial and you are inspired to create something wonderful/
