Love Birds Gift Tag

Hey i-Crafters! Justin here, and today I am putting a cute little spin on the new Tunnel Card, Love Birds Add On Die Set, and turning it into a gift tag that is just perfect for your special someone or to put onto a Valentine’s Day gift!

First, using the Zip Gift Tag die set, I die cut 2 tags, one from white blending cardstock and the other from solid red cardstock. Using a light pink dye ink, I blended it over the white tag, and then went in with a darker pink to distress the edges. Fun tip: when distressing edges of a die cut piece, the i-Brush Blending Brushes are my go to because they really help give you some control when blending the smaller areas!

Then, focusing on the Love Birds pieces, I used one of the tunnel card dies to cut the ink blended tag. I also took a piece of scrap brown cardstock to give me the body and branch die cut of the birds. I adhered this behind the opening on the pink tag, and trimmed off any excess.

I die cut all the pieces of the love birds from white blending cardstock. I then used Copic Markers to color each of the individual pieces, and adhered them onto the body of the bird. I then adhered them onto the tag. One thing I had to adjust was coloring in the branch, as my layers didn’t really allow for the birds to look like they were perched on the branch. I adhered the red tag to the back of the pink tag.

Next, I took the Flip Card Heart Blooms die set and die cut the “Love” sentiment and 3 of the same flower dies from white cardstock. I ink blended the love die with red ink on the bottom of the letters, so it left an ombré effect from red to white. I also ink blended each of the flowers so that the center parts were red and the petals were pink. I adhered these die cuts to the tag, and finished it off with some red embellishments! And that’s my tag!
