Hello my crafty friends! Thank you for hanging out on the i-crafter blog with this cute gnomie. I love mixing and matching i-crafter dies. Whether it is with other i-crafter die sets or taking the images, like these from the Matchbook Gnome Add-On dies, and creating a simple holiday card with it. I think it is such fun to die cut and create something unexpected from the original intent.
Let me share my creative process for this project.
Using the i-Mend Self-Mending MAGNETIC PRO Cutting Deck, I die cut the the house shape from blue cardstock, the windows, roof and gingerbread molding from white cardstock; the door, window boxes, and roof line from red cardstock; the trees from green cardstock; the shoes from glossy black cardstock; Santa Gnome from a red and a white sueded specialty paper and the nose from pink cardstock.
Once all of the pieces are die cut, it is time to assemble them. Arrange the Santa gnome pieces and glue them into place as shown above. The suede specialty paper adds a bit of softness and texture to the Santa gnome.
The cute house is easy to piece together and glue into place, Once assembled, I cut a piece of the mirrored cardstock to fit the back of the house and glued it into place. This give a nice reflection in the windows and the dormer of the house.
I created a background scene with holiday printed paper for the sky and white cardstock for snow. I glued the house and trees in place and added the gnome in the forefront. I die cut the sentiment Gnome for the Holidays from black cardstock and glued it to the top of the card front. The card front is mounted to a green sage colored card base.
