Hello my crafty friends! Today I am on the i-crafter blog making it mini. This tiny terrarium makes a sweet ornament and could even be used as a gift tag for a housewarming gift. I combined the plant dies form the new Pegboard Shelfie dies with the Christmas Indent Ornament dies are used for the base and the Geometric Dimensional Domes encases the itty-bitty plant. Let me show you how easy this is to recreate.
I use a variety of cardstocks to create the plant – printed watercolor cardstock and solid green cardstock for the leaves – pink printed watercolor cardstock and pink solid cardstock for the flower and planter. I am using the i-Mend ProCutting Deck and three i-Shims with my Amaze die cutting machine. The cutting sandwich is – the base plate, three i-Shims, the die (cutting side up), cardstock, and the i-Mend ProCutting Deck.
I die cut the two of each plant piece to use for a front and back side of the ornament. I added green veins to the large heart shaped leaves and shaded the pink flowers with Copic markers. I shaped the leaves using the i-Press Burnisher and Pad to give the plant more dimension. I glued the two matching leaves together to form two sprigs.
I colored a piece of white cardstock with blue Copic markers creating a variegated look and die two Christmas Indent Ornament shapes to create the front and the back of the ornament. I set an ornament down to use the opening as a guide for arranging the leaves to create the plant. Once I had one side of the plant glued, I turned it over and duplicated it. I attached the two planters to each side of the plant. Using double sided adhesive tape and glue, I attached the Geometric Dimensional Domes to each ornament. I added the mini plant and then sealed the two ornaments together.
