Hey Sunshine Notebook

Hello Sunshine

Hi everyone! Tonya here with my last project of the month and term. I want to share my take on the Hello Sunshine Diecut Set  and Carly Alphabet Diecuts by creating a mini notebook with both sets of diecuts.

SNB1

I started by cutting two of the “pop up” diecuts out of scraps of cardstock that I had on hand. This gave me a chance to play with how I was going to create a notebook cover with these diecuts.

SNB2

I cut off the extra cardstock of both flaps of the diecuts.

SNB3

I adhered both folded edges together to create the spine of the notebook.

SNB4

By now I had how this notebook was going to come together so I cut and put together the cover in the cardstock collection that I chosen to use. I cut a strip of cardstock the same size as the spine and adhered to the outside and inside of the cover.

SNB5

I cut ten sheets per booklet of dotted notebook paper to fit inside the notebook cover. I folded each set of papers, used binder clips to hold in place as I punched holes in the spine.

SNB7

I cut a piece of cardstock slightly smaller than the inside spine, measured and punched holes to match the booklets and with cording sewed the booklets onto the piece of cardstock.

SNB6

I adhered the booklets to the inside spine and I used binder clips to keep everything in place until glue had dried.

SNB8

I adhered patterned cardstock to the inside of both covers to add a little more stability to the cover.

SNB11

I decorated the cover with the cloud and sunshine face die which I added some fun googlie eyes . I cut two rectangle diecuts and the “notes” and the “hey” I cut from the Carly Alphabet Diecuts. I placed one rectangle die and the notes on the cover and the other rectangle, hey and sunshine! diecuts on the spine.

I hope you have enjoyed the projects I have shared these last few months and that your take away is to always look for the less obvious ways to use your diecuts. It has been a pleasure to be a part of the i-crafter Inspiration Team and at some later date maybe I will be able to share some more ideas with you all…you never know?
