Rose Heart Mom

Good morning! Ardyth here with a pretty Mother’s Day card using the new Rose Heart die in a different way!

I started by cutting the Rose Heart from white cardstock. I used Pixie Spray on the back of the outline portion and laid it onto a panel of white cardstock that had been trimmed with the smaller square from the Exploding Shaker Box die set. Then I blended coral ink onto the petals and inlaid them into the outline. I didn’t use the 3 largest petals from the outside, and this gives the rose a more natural, less heart-shaped look.

Then I followed the same process with the leaf, 3 times, choosing to have different ‘amounts’ of the leaf showing each time.

Then I removed the outline die cuts, leaving the inlaid petals and leaves on the white cardstock.

In the end, this has a raised look, almost like it was done with an embossing folder!

I used the Carly alphabet to cut MOM and glued these letters onto the centre of my rose panel.

I backed the white square onto a black square cut with the larger square die from the Exploding Shaker Box die set and popped that up on a 4 1/4 inch square card that also had a black border to match.
