Gnome for the Holidays!

Hello again! It’s Lauren here to share this fun Gnome for the Holidays card using the new Matchbook Gnome Add-on die set. I find that when I create Christmas cards this time of year, I tend to go for a non-traditional color scheme.

For this cute card, I chose white, blue and lavender color palette. I started by die cutting all the elements of the gnome and the house from cardstock. Then adhered the pieces together, creating the finished house and gnome.

I then created an ink smooshed background for them to sit on. I used Lindy’s Gang Magical Shimmer powder in Prima Donna Purple and Sassy Sapphire. I spritzed water on my glass mat and then placed a small amount of the powder and “smooshed” my 4.25×5.5″ Bristol Smooth cardstock panel into it. I let it dry a bit then did the same thing with the Sapphire powder. When the panel was completely dry, I used a scalloped edge die from my stash to trim it down.

I then adhered it onto a top folding white A2 (4.25×5.5″) white card base. Next, I started to adhere the house, gnome and also a couple of white trees that I die cut from white cardstock onto the card. I also die cut the sentiment from blue and purple cardstock and adhered them on as well.

I finished the card off by adding a few embellishments on the background.

I love how this card turned out. This is a really fun die set to use. I hope this inspires you to create some fun holiday cards!
