Fun Mystery Mini Zip Envelope tutorial with i-crafter Dies

zip envelope

Hello there my crafty friends. I have been die cutting and playing with i-crafter‘s Mini Slimline Zip Envelope dies.  What is super cool about this envelope is, when you seal it closed the only way to open it is with the zip pull.  I can see using this for a baby reveal, adding money on the inside for a wedding or graduation.  What would you put in the middle of a sealed envelope like this?

In addition to the Mini Slimline Zip Envelope, I am pairing it with the Christmas Ornament Tree dies, The Tag and Label dies, and the Pop Up Wiper Gift Tag Add On dies.  I enjoyed this project so much and see so much potential to create real fun reveal envelopes.

I created a Mystery Holiday Envelope with a Gift Tag enclosed. Here is how it is made.

Using the i-Mend Magnetic Self-Mending ProCuttingDeck and the Christmas Ornament Tree die set, I die cut open Ornament Christmas tree twice from a brushed silver cardstock.  I die cut two solid Christmas Ornament Tree outlines twice from a variegated rainbow metallic cardstock.  I glued the brushed silver open ornament over the variegated solid tree shape.

I die cut the largest tag (from the Tag and Label die set) out of black cardstock.  I added the gift card holder tabs die to the middle of the large tag.  This is from the Pop Up Wiper Gift Tag Add On die set.

I added a gift card to the tag, and glued one of the Christmas Trees over the tabs on the tag.  I die cut holographic snowflake and the Merry & Bright sentiment.  I glued the snowflake to the top of the tag and added some ribbon to the top.  I die cut two of the Mini Slimline Envelope sides from navy cardstock adding the zip tag pull to one of the sides. To seal the envelope, I attached the two sides together with double sided adhesive tape, leaving one of the long sides open to insert the gift card tag before sealing it shut.   I wrote the word Pull on the zip tag in white gel pen and attached the sentiment Merry and Bright to the top of the envelope with the second Christmas Tree glued underneath the sentiment.
