Follow along with the instructions or scroll below for a complete video tutorial.

1. Begin by gathering your supplies. You will need:

  • TOOLS:
    Folded Butterfly die
    i-Clik Pick
    Die cutting machine
    Hot glue gun
  • MATERIALS:
    Washi paper
    28 gauge craft wire, black
    Battery-powered candle, 6 inches
    Ribbon

Supplies

Die cut three Folded Butterflies out of washi paper.

Accordion fold the butterfly

Cut a 4 inch piece of 28 gauge craft wire and wrap it around the center of the folded butterfly

Using the i-Clik Pick, wrap the ends of the wire around the tip of the pick. Gently slide it off to create the antennae.

Gently unfold the accordion wings to create the butterfly shape.

Optional: Die cut the butterfly body and adhere to the wings.

Optional: Adhere the bottom wings together to create a different shaped butterfly.

Use hot glue to attach the butterflies to the battery-powered candle. Do not use a real candle due to fire hazard. Optional: attach a ribbon around the candle for added detail.

Whether used on a home décor piece or embellishing a card, these folded butterflies have so many possibilities.
