Hello my crafty friends! Welcome to the i-crafter blog! Is anyone else making slim line cards? I find that I am drawn to them lately. I love the tall and narrow area to create on. I’m so excited to share this fun slimline card featuring the i-crafter Butterfly Burst dies.

Using the large detailed die cluster, I die cut the Butterfly Burst die from a piece of alcohol ink cardstock I created using the i-Mend Self Mending Cutting Deck with my die cutting machine to cut out the dies. I shaped and curled the wings of the butterfly to create a 3 dimensional look . I used the Butterfly Burst die to cut out a black butterfly cluster for the background.

I took a piece of white cardstock measuring 3 3/4″ x 8 3/4″. This will be the card front for my slimline card. I attached a piece of low tack purple tape across the bottom of the card to act as a mask. I used Black Silk and Sparkle Silk to create the splattered effect on the card.
I removed the purple tape exposing an untouched white stripe on the card front. I centered and attached the card front to a slightly larger black piece of cardstock measuring 3 7/8″ x 8 7/8″ to create a narrow frame.

I glued the 3D alcohol ink Butterfly Burst to the matching black Butterfly Burst frame, making sure I did NOT glue the the shaped butterfly wings to the frame. I turned it over an attached double sided foam adhesive to the back side of the black frame.

Using the Scattered Thoughts stamp set, I stamped “Thinking of You” at the bottom of the card front in the white stripe area. I removed the protective strips from the double side foam adhesive and attached the butterfly cluster to the upper area of the card front.

To complete the card, I attached the card front to a 4″ x 9 1/4″ slimline peach card base.
