Flower Bursts for Mother’s Day

Flower Burst Mother's Day Die Cut Card Amanda Stevens

Hey crafty friends, it’s Amanda from Pear Blossom Press. I know it’s a little early for Mother’s Day cards in the US, but I’ve been wanting to make this card for months. When I saw the Flower Bursts die set, I thought they’d be really pretty cut out of vellum and glitter paper. (The delicate lines of the burst dies really pop when you cut them out of glitter paper.) I knew I wanted to add in a few feathers too, so I picked my color scheme based on the feathers I chose. I picked a bushed gold background and gold glitter paper for the flowers. I used Copic markers to color the vellum leaves. The die set comes with a pretty overlay for the leaves, and I thought about using it too, but I was afraid more glitter paper would distract from the flowers. Instead, I chose to add a little more of the glitter paper as the outline to the word MOM, that I cut out with the Haley Outline Alphabet die set.

To finish the card, I layered everything onto a white card base that I had embossed with a woodgrain embossing folder. I added Aqua Shimmer to the white flower centers and letters. I also added some bronze sequins with a coat of Diamond Glaze on top. I love the way this card turned out with the combination of natural elements and gold accents. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by today; I’ll be back soon with more fun cards to share. Don’t forget, you can get free shipping this month to celebrate National Craft Month. And be on the lookout for the new release from i-crafter on April 1st, there are some fantastic new stamps and dies you’ll really want to see! You can find the sister article to this post on my blog. Head on over for lots of inspiration.
