Hi everyone – Bri here! Today I am a sharing this a beautiful slimline card featuring the Koi Pillow Box die set. This die set is perfect for making a gift card holder! This project is featured on my personal blog today too, check it out here.

First, I die cut the sides of the fish out of ink blending cardstock and thick acetate. The die did not go all the way through the thick acetate but left a nice embossing effect. I trimmed the acetate piece just to the parts with the gills on both sides. These pieces will be adhered on the inside of the fish.

For the ink blending cardstock I used Distress inks and the ink smooshing technique to create an abstract mixture of the different shades of orange on the body of the fish. I used Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, and Ripe Persimmon inks for this effect. I used Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade to ink blend the gills and the fins. The last step to create the fish was to add the twine and the eyes!
