Hello my crafty friends! Welcome today’s blog featuring the i-crafter Ribbon Rosettes dies! I am so glad you stopped by to see what inspiration I have in store for you. I used the Ribbon Rosette dies to create the folded yellow strawberry umbrella and the folded pink strawberry fan the Kokeshi Dress Up Doll is holding in this sweet 3D slimline card.
A – I am using two pieces of origami paper for the fan and three pieces for the umbrella rosettes
B – I used a 1″ circle punch to punch three circles from one of the corners
C – Since origami paper is thinner than cardstock, I die cut all three layers together using the i-mend Self-Mending Cutting Deck with my Amaze die cutting machine. You can see the score line shows up on all three rosette pieces.
D and E – I use the edge of a metal ruler as a guide to fold on the score lines
F and G – I fold one piece in a zigzag to create the fan folds
H and I – I glued two of the folded pieces together at the tab to creatine longer piece. I folded into the fan shapeJ – I glued the front fan flaps on top of each other
K and L – I turned the fan over and repeated step J with the back fan flaps
M and N – I trimmed the fan straight across to create the half circle rosette
O and P – I glued the half of one of the circles (solid side facing forward) to the edge of the middle front of the fan and folded it over the straight edge to cover the middle folds on both sides of the fan rosette. I glued the second circle (printed side showing) a bit lower of the solid circle and folded it over finishing the fan rosette
I used three die cut pieces for the rosette umbrella and only two pieces for the fan to create this Fan-tastic Folds – Slimline Card. Here is how it was assembled after all the pieces. I used the Kokeshi Dress Up Doll dies with a variety of grey cardstocks and a tiny bit of red accent for the chopsticks in her hair. The background is a printed cardstock with subtle rays of grey. The Hello sentiment is from Hello Flower die set and is die cut in a light grey cardstock. I love the look as it highlights the yellow umbrella and pink fan rosettes.
Thank you so much for stopping by today for my i-crafter blog post. I hope you enjoyed learning how to create these fun Ribbon Rosette dies rosettes. I think they add a fun dimension to this sweet slimline card.
