Easter Trio Slimline

Easter Treat Lantern

Hello! It’s Lauren up on the blog today with this sweet Easter card. I used the new Easter Treat Lantern Add On to create a cute trio on a slimline card. This is a quick and easy card with some simple ink blending that shows through the windows.

I started out by ink blending Distress Oxide inks onto the front of a slimline card base. I used Squeezed Lemonade on the bottom towards the middle, then Dusty Concord from the top going down to meet the Squeezed Lemonade. I set that aside to dry.

Next I lined up the Happy Easter egg die in the center of a white 8.5 x 3.5 inch cardstock panel and ran it through my die cutting machine. I then die cut a bunny on both left and right of the Easter egg using the bunny window die from the same set. Then trimmed the panel using a scalloped edge stitched slimline rectangle die from my stash. I adhered the panel to a black border then attached it to the front of my slimline card base.

I cut 2 sets of the bunny’s cheeks, nose/mouth and inside of his ears out of pink and grey cardstock. My pink cardstock was a little too pink so I softened it by blending some Picket Fence distress oxide ink onto the die cuts. I then adhered the bunny elements into place on the cardstock panel.

Once the bunnies were complete, I die cut a bunch of the flower shapes out of matching yellow and purple cardstock. I adhered them in a wobbly line along the top and bottom of the card, finishing the card off.

I hope you enjoy this alternate way to use the Easter Lantern Add On set. Thanks for visiting!
Lauren
