Double Easter Basket

Easter Basket

Here’s a great idea for a double Easter Basket that holds twice the goodies! We’re loving this already! We used the Double Carrier and Easter Embellishments by Lori Whitlock and for the grass, we used a piece from the Box Pops Dinosaur Add-on die.

Let’s get started!

Start by die cutting two pieces of the Double Carrier in white and two pieces of the layering pieces in a pattern card stock. We used clear packing tape on some brown card stock before die cutting the bunny to create a shiny, chocolate bunny. Die cut six pieces of “grass” from the Box Pops Dinosaur Add-on set. Die cut the words “Happy Easter” and the coordinating shadow shape. Finally, we die cut 12 Easter eggs in various colors to match the pattern card stock.

Fold all of the crease lines in the two Double Carrier pieces. Note that the longer, vertical tab near the handle is a valley fold on both pieces. All of the other folds are mountain folds.

Adhere the patterned card stock to the sides of the Double Carrier.

Adhere the short tabs along the base of the Double Carrier to form a box.

Adhere the bottom flaps to create the bottom of the Double Carrier box.

Align the round hole of the two vertical handles and adhere them together including the vertical side tabs.

Time to Embellish!

Adhere the eggs to the inside of the Double Carrier sides so that they “peek” out above the edges. Adhere the eggs on all sides of the Double Carrier.

Adhere the grass behind the eggs on the inside of the Double Carrier.

Adhere the chocolate bunny and layer the sentiment with the coordinating shadow die.

Completed and Ready to Fill!

Here’s a closer look at the “chocolate” bunny. The inside of the ear was die cut out of regular, non-shiny card stock for contrast. We think he is kind of cute and yummy and ZERO calories!

These are so easy and quick to make for any Easter gathering. We filled ours with candy-filled “carrots” but there are so many ways to fill this Double Easter basket!

Happy Easter!
