Let’s Make This

Create this 12″ wreath out of paper and glue!

1. Begin by gathering your supplies. You will need:

  • TOOLS:
    Folded Holly die set
    Paper Orb 3D die set
    Die cutting machine
    Scissors
    Hot glue
    Liquid adhesive
  • MATERIALS:
2 sheets each of 12″ x 12″ light weight cardstock in 3 shades of green
1 sheet of 12″ x 12″ dark green, light weight cardstock
    2 Shades of red cardstock
    12″ x 12″ sheet of Sturdy chipboard
    Metallic gold cardstock
    Nuvo Glitter Accents

Set aside the single dark green sheet of cardstock. Die cut six Folded Holly leaves from each of the two sheets of 12″ x 12″ lightweight cardstock. You will have 12 each of three colors of leaves.

Accordion fold each shape. Repeat for all shapes.

Holding the accordion folds tightly, fold the long end in half as shown.

Apply liquid adhesive along the long end and secure the fold to create the holly leaf.

Repeat for all of the shapes. Depending on how you arrange the leaves on the wreath, you will need 11 or 12 leaves of each color.

Download this template by clicking and saving to your computer. Print it on an 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheet of plain printer paper. Trim the printed template to a 6″ x 6″ square.

Using the remaining sheet of 12″ x 12″ dark green cardstock, fold the sheet in half and then fold in half again to create a 6″ x 6″ square. Holding the trimmed template over the folded cardstock, use scissors to cut the quarter circle template shape along the unfolded edges.

Unfold the 12″ x 12″ green cardstock and adhere it to the chipboard.

Use scissors to cut out the circle wreath. The Folded Holly leaves will cover most of the edges so the circle does not need to be exact. Cut the inside circle as well. This is now the backing for your wreath.

Begin by laying out the holly leaves on the wreath before adhering. Start from the top center with the leaves on the left curving to the right and the leaves on the right, curving to the left. Stagger and overlap the leaves for added dimension. Create a cluster of leaves at the bottom where the two sides meet. Once you have the leaves arranged to your satisfaction, begin applying hot glue on the very top, center leaf. This leaf will be overlapped on both sides so it can be adhered flat. Work down one side at a time applying hot glue to just the base of the next leaf leaving the top of the leaf to overlap the previous leaf. Continue until you reach the center bottom. Start again at the top and work down the opposite side.

Die cut 15 small berries out of medium red cardstock and 15 larger berries out of dark red cardstock. Layer and adhere. Add a drop of Glitter Accents to highlight the berries. Adhere these into clusters around the wreath.

Use the tassel die from the Paper Orb 3D die set to die cut 10 pieces from metallic gold cardstock. Curve the ends around a pencil or other round tool. Adhere these around the holly leaves to add a little spray of gold sparkle to finish off the wreath.
