Direct to Paper Ink Swipe Technique

Hi! I have an EASY way to create a colorful background using ink pads – Ink Swiping! It doesn’t get any easier than this! I used Hybrid Ink Pads from i-crafter because they’re yummy and juicy!

Isn’t this rainbow background so bright and happy! I took a bunch of my favorite i-crafter Hybrid Inks and swiped the ink pad across my piece of cardstock. You could definitely use blending brushes, but I wanted a harder, organic look!

I started with Majestic Lilac, then Candy CoatedMango MadnessLemon DropSparkling AppleSkysail Blue, and ended with a bit of Tropical Pool and just swiped the pads across my background. So easy! I needed something light and pretty to go on top of my bold background, so I chose the new Butterfly Bursts die. I love that all of those little pieces will pop out of the butterflies, but I chose to keep them together!

I cut the Butterfly Bursts die from heavy weight cardstock and glued it onto my Hybrid Ink background. I added a contrasting sentiment from the Scattered Thoughts Stamp Set by stamping and white heat embossing on black cardstock.

I embellished my card with a few droplet style gems. I wanted to keep the focus on the background, so I didn’t add any more colors and kept all of my die cutting and such neutral. I hope you’ve enjoyed this easy ink swiping technique!
