Christmas Tree Farm Card

Holiday Truck

Hello!! Christmas in July continues with a trip to the tree farm. My card today features the Box Pop Holiday Truck Add On. I took the elements from the set and made a slimline card. I love all the different things that can be done with I-Crafter products!

I started this card by creating a 3.5 x 8.5 watercolor background on watercolor paper using Distressed Oxide inks. I used Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch, Faded Jeans and Black Soot.

Next I die cut the truck out of a deep red cardstock. I trimmed off the tree and the base, and then used regular sandpaper to distress it.

I then die cut the fenders and tire rims out of silver mirror cardstock and distressed them with the sandpaper. I created rust on them using E07 and E79 Copic markers. I die cut the tires from black cardstock. I adhered all everything onto the truck.

After that, I made a tinted window using a piece of acetate and black alcohol ink. After it dried, I cut it to size and adhered it in place on the truck.

Using the included tree die, I cut 2 green trees. I also used the truck die to cut 5 more trees in varying shades of green. I trimmed them off at the bottom where they met the truck. I adhered one truck onto the back of the truck.

Now that the watercolor background was dry, I adhered it to a slimline card base of the same size. Then I started to create my tree farm.

I created lights for the trees using the included die from different colors of card stock. I also die cut the words out of deep red cardstock and brown cardstock ( for a shadow). I made a sign using a woodgrain pattern paper cut down so the words fit just inside and two strips of brown cardstock for the poles.

Time to create my tree farm! I started adhering al my die cuts onto the card. I placed the darker trees in the back and one lit up tree by each end of the truck. I adhered the lights on the trees. I added black foam dots to the truck and adhered it on the card.

Next, I adhered the poles to the sign and added the sign to the card.

I wanted a string of lights to go across so I adhered yellow lights and then used a black fineline marker to draw the string.

The last thing I did was to add stars in the sky using a fine tip white acrylic paint marker.

I really hope this card put you in the holiday mood and also inspires you to try using your dies in different ways. Thanks for visiting!
