Cheerful Stamp and Die Cut Flower Card

Box Pops Flower Add-on

Hey Everyone! Justin here, and today I am stretching my i-Crafter stash to put a comic twist on the new Box Pops, Flower Add-On set! For my card, I opted to not go the Box Pops, Oval Base route, and show how these flowers can also be used on just a standard card as well. So let’s get to it!

Since this card requires a LOT of die cutting, that’s where I started. I die cut 5 flower frames from black cardstock, and their backing pieces from yellow, papaya, and orange cardstock using the Box Pops, Flower Base Add-On set. Next, I die cut 2 banners, one in black with the words “Hello World” also die cut, and one in white, from the Hello World die set. I used this same set to die cut a yellow globe, but trimmed off the base and arm to make it just a circle.

Note: I definitely recommend using some sort of embellishment dish to keep track of all of these die cuts. There are a lot to be used, and it’s really nice to keep them all in one place until needed.

Using liquid adhesive, I adhered all of my flower backings to my flower frames, along with adhering my black banner to my white banner.

Next, I began to prepare my background. Using the Cosmic Flare stencil, I took an A2-sized piece of light green cardstock and blended a solid layer of slightly darker green over. I cleaned the stencil and re-applied it about 180 degrees from the original position, and blended again using the same ink color. The build up of the dye ink really helped darken the areas where the ink was already applied. I then took the Comic Halftone Dots stamp set and used the circle stamp to stamp 3 areas of dots on my card base in a slightly darker green ink. I then went in and used the rectangle stamp of dots to stamp yellow-orange dots on my circle die cut.

I could now move on to assembling my card! I adhered my yellow circle in the upper center of my card. I also took my flowers, adhered them to the back of my banner, trimmed off the excess hanging off underneath, and adhered the entire unit to my card base. I finished it off by adhering some embellishments, and adhering the panel to an A2-sized card base! My card was complete!

If you haven’t checked out the newest products from the i-Crafter release, you absolutely have to! I just love these Box Pop Flowers. They are just the right amount of whimsical, and easier than coloring up flowers (well, at least for me).

I hope this card leaves you with some inspiration on how to either stretch your existing craft stash, or maybe encourage you to add to it (the latter always seems the easiest).
