Hello crafty friends! Welcome to the i-crafter blog! I am so glad you stopped by today to see what inspiration we have in store for you. Today I am using the Koi Pillow box dies, Pop up Wiper Insert dies and the Carly Alphabet dies to create this Best Fishes slimline gift card holder card. I die cut all the dies using the i-Mend Self-Mending Cutting Deck.
Here is the tutorial:

A and B – I created a striped cardstock using strips of red colored cardstock and gluing it diagonally on a 3 1/4″ x 8 1/4″ piece of white cardstock. I lined up the middle score line of the Koi Pillow Box die with the lower edge of the striped card stock and ran it through the die cutting machineC – I fussy cut the curved area of the pillow box out (discard) to create a flat fish shape

D, E, and F – I die cut the fish face and tail from red vellum. I die cut a second fish face from black cardstock and saved the 5 tear drop shapes to glue into the red vellum face opening once I attached it to the striped fish body. I cut the fin from red cardstock and the eye and pupil from black and white cardstock. I ran the vellum pieces through my Xyron sticker maker and attached them to the fish body. I glued the black tear shaped pieces in place and added the eye to create the fish G – I cut a piece of purple glitter-stock measuring 2 3/8″ x 2 3/8″ I glued this to the back side of the fish to cover the open scales

H – Using the gift card holder from the Pop Up Wiper dies I die cut the gift card holder die on a piece of 2 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ red cardstockI – I inserted a gift card into the tabs and glued on the fish fin near the top as shownJ – I drew a pencil line from the fin to the outer edge of the gift card holder as shown. Cutting off this excess will create angles on each side of the fin. I wrote “Pull Here” on the fin.K – I attached a 1/8″ double-sided foam adhesive strip at the bottom edge of the back side of the fish. I placed 1/4″ double-sided foam adhesive strip just at the inside back side of the fish mouth. I set the gift card in the corner created by the foam strips and added a second piece of 1/4″ double-sided foam adhesive strip to the tail side leaving about 1/8″ space between the gift card and the foam. Leave the top of the card open so you can slide the gift card fin in at the top of the fish

I attached the fish to the front right side of a stenciled slimline card front. I die cut the letters to spell out “BEST FISHES” in the Carly Alphabet Capital letter dies and glued them to the front left of the slimline card. I traced the outline of each letter with a white gel pen and attached the card front to a black slimline card base to complete the card.
