Hello there. It’s Lauren up on the blog today to share a fun Halloween gnome card. I used the Matchbook Gnome Add-On and a few Halloween die sets to create a spooky, fun Halloween scene card. The Gnome Add-On is a Christmas set but I thought that with a couple of easy changes/add ons’ it could be a perfect little gnome witch house!
I started by die cutting all the elements needed to create my scene.
I then assembled the house and gnome. Trimming off the bottom portion of the house and gnome that I didn’t need to create this card.
I then adhered all the die cut elements onto an A2 sized piece of patterned paper I had die cut using a stitched rectangle die from my stash. Setting up a spooky cute scene.
With the scene built and adhered, you could complete the card here and adhere it onto an A2 sized card base. I wanted to add some light up elements to my tree and one of the pumpkins though, so I pulled out my stash of Pear Blossom Press EZ Lights. I used 2 of the single lights for this card.
I positioned the lights where I wanted them to shine through the back, traced outlines for them then adhered them in place using washi, double sided foam tape and then regular double-sided tape.
Then I adhered an A2 (4.24×5.5″) black cardstock panel to a top folding white A2 sized card base.
Next, I removed the backing paper from the foam tape on the back of my gnome scene panel and adhere it to the card base. I didn’t add any “press” labels to the front of the card because I didn’t want to detract from my scene. Instead, on the inside of the card, I wrote where to press to get the lights to turn on.
I hope this inspires you to mix and match different die sets and also use them for different occasions! Thanks so much for visiting today!
