A Penny for Your Thoughts – Geometric Dimensional Dome Card

Scattered Thoughts

Hello crafty friends!  Welcome to my blog featuring i-crafter new May dies and stamp set!  I am so glad you stopped by today.  I have created a Penny for Your Thoughts card to share with you.  It features the new Scatter Thoughts stamp set, the Geometric Dimensional  Domes and the Mini Succulents Terrarium dies.

A – Using my stamp positioner and clear pigment ink, I stamp out “A Penny for Your Thoughts”  sentiment from the Scatter Thoughts stamp set.  It is positioned on the right sided of  a 4 1/8″ x 5 5/8″ navy cardstock card piece I am using for the card front.  The bottom of the sentiment  is  1 1/4″ from the bottom of the card front

B – I used copper embossing powder an heat set the sentiment.

C- I keep a stash of  of  4′ x 5 1/4″ backgrounds. This one is created with powdered pigment  water colors on water color paper.  I framed the card front with two strips  of watercolor paper.  One measuring 3/4″ x 5 3/8″  the second is 1″ x 5 3/8″.  I used both glue and double sided adhesive tape to attach the larger piece to the top of the card front an the smaller strip to the bottom. I left a thin border of navy cardstock showing

D – I positioned square die, from the Mini Succulents Terrarium die set, to the right side of the  sentiment.  It is placed in the middle of the two borders on the navy cardstock. It will cut a diamond shaped opening in the card front

E – I turned the card front over and placed 1/8” double sided adhesive tape around the die cut opening

F – I exposed the sticky tape and placed the Geometric Dimensional Dome in the opening. The Dome is facing down to be revealed in the front of the card.  I added quarter inch double sided adhesive tape around the dome opening in the back

G – Using a scrap of the remaining watercolor paper background, I cut a piece to fit over the opening of the dome back.  I placed a penny in the dome with the tail side facing up.  I exposed the double sided adhesive and attached the watercolor paper (color side down) and seal the penny in the dome

H –  You can see how the penny is sealed in the dome when the card is turned over

I – I attached the card front to an A2 sage colored cardstock card base
